Pune Sevasadan Society was started in the year 1909 by Late Smt. Ramabai Ranade ( wife of Late Hon’ble Justice M.G. Ranade) with the help of social reformist Late Shri . G.K. Deodhar.

The Society has been a pioneer Institution with a mission to serve the nation in the field of all round development and upliftment of the status of women.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The Society constructed a well-designed school building on a plot at Erandawane and an English Medium School for girls started functioning in the year 1997 with pre-primary classes and Std. – I.

However, due to pressing need of the hour and persistent demand from our parents and well-wishers, the broad-minded Society opened its admissions for boys too from the following academic year 1998-99. The School today, has classes running from Mini K.G. to Std. X.

We strive to imbibe moral values like humility , hard work , integrity , perseverance and environment sensitivity , religious tolerance , national pride and duty towards one’s nation.

Our aim has always been on all round development of physical , intellectual and psycologycal abilities of the child and not just imparting bookish knowledge. With a trained, innovative and creative staff and a free play approach based on project methodology , learning has become a joyful experience for our children. We have a well – equipped playground and a sandpit for their outdoor games , and different rooms for activities like music , art and craft , indoor free play (toy room) etc. Besides taking children on field trips for giving first hand knowledge and experience based on their syllabus , exposing them to different audio-visual aids is an integral part of our curriculum.

For our primary and secondary section we have various extra curricular activities like Taekwondo , roller skating , gymnastics , Indian classical dance , art and craft , dramatics , vocal , instrumental music( tabla, harmonium, violin), Sanskrit Classes , within the school premises after the academic classes. So that the children develop a liking and follow , at least one of these activities as they grow up. Computer is used as a teaching aid.

The school prides itself in providing students with well equipped computer lab , two science labs and a rich library.

Highlight of the school is a ground equipped with jogging track ,a sand pit , two tiled courtyards for free play and two multipurpose halls for organized games.

The students are guided by highly qualified staff members .
